KATIE DELANEY
About me
Hello! I'm Katie Delaney. I am a recent journalism graduate from Emerson College, with a focus on broadcasting and minor in history.
In my last semester I co-hosted the 40th season of Good Morning Emerson, on two live shows a week. Formerly, I have been the Entertainment Correspondent and Boston News Correspondent.
I have also been involved in WEBN-TV Boston, Emerson's award winning student-run news station, since my freshman year, frequently anchoring and reporting . With WEBN I reported live from Massachusetts Governor Candidate Geoff Diehl's Election Night Party, and traveled to DC to report on the Cherry Blossoms festival and mentor students. I also got to attend the Society of Profession Journalists Convention in Las Vegas this fall with WEBN, getting the chance to network and learn valuable reporting skills. Most recently I was the Live Reporter for the WEBN Holiday Special, where I did multiple live hits from the Boston Christmas Tree Lighting, including a live interview and count down to the lighting.
Last year, I explored radio, as the Wednesday morning news anchor on WERS 88.9. It was also my first foray into early morning news. I delivered a live two minute news break every half hour from 6:45-8:45.
In my reporting, I focus on explaining nuanced news in a way that's easy to understand and highlighting little-known places and events.
